Our Managing Partner and President is Rudy Dombrowski, a third-generation builder and one of the few licensed civil and construction engineers in our local industry today. His wife, Sandy is an experienced real estate broker and licensed realtor who enjoys helping people just find the right property for their needs, especially when it’s for ATD building projects. Sandy’s land deal knowledge, along with Rudy’s expertise in design and engineering assures ATD projects not only get reviewed and done correctly from the start, but also within budget constraints.

Rudy Dombroski is a proud Wilmington, NC native and received his Civil Engineering Degree from NC State University in 2001 and became licensed as a Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering shortly thereafter. He is also a licensed General Contractor who excels at all size construction from large commercial projects to complicated custom residential renovations.

Sandy Dombroski is the Development and Real Estate Lead for ATD Building. She is also a Wilmington native who received an Economics degree from Mary Baldwin College in 2002. She began a career in banking and has worked as a loan officer, underwriter, and sales manager in SBA, commercial, retail, and branch lending. She and Rudy keep enjoy raising their three boys, Thomas, Price, and Josh in their own hometown while spending time on the water, golfing, and playing tennis as a family. They consider all their ATD clients as members of the family, too!

Chris Dunn is a Managing Partner at ATD Building Group with a goal of providing clients with the end-product they envisioned from the start. This gets achieved with precise front-end project planning, strategic alternatives, delegated action plans, benchmarking, and careful asset management throughout project scope development. Along with his wife, Stephanie Castagnier Dunn, a renowned Real Estate Banker, they make a dynamic team that assures ATD clients both building and financing expertise and assured peace of mind throughout each project.

Chris has an extensive background in operations, strategic direction and growth, having already helped create over eighteen small startup companies with unparalleled track records. Chris grew up in Texas and moved to Wilmington six years ago. He and Stephanie are the proud parents of twins, and with a boy and a girl enjoy all the joys of parenting.

Stephanie was born and raised in Montreal. Her parents were both uneducated and poor teens. Her father was a passionate man, but illiterate, made some wrong choices, contracted HIV then infected her mother. As a result, both of her parents passed away from AIDS when she was young. Stephanie was then left to face the world alone. She knew her parents did the best they could to survive but Stephanie vowed not to make the same mistakes, remembering her father often saying, “Do as I say, not as I do”, and that great advice stuck with her. She became so determined that she attended the best university in Montreal, McGill University, acquired all the tools she needed, then moved to America to find her own success!

After excelling in a respected university job, she moved into the corporate world as a Stock Broker, and then conquered the field of Commercial Real Estate Banking, becoming one of the most successful real estate bankers in America as a Board Member of the CDC of Chicago’s Small Business Administration. Her financial drive and ambition even led her to audition for season 10 of “The Apprentice”, where she made it as far as Trump’s boardroom.

Her real passion today is helping small business owners build their own success stories, including helping with the financial needs for ATD’s building clients. Stephanie not only owns her own financial firm, but also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for Grieving Children. Her biggest love though is for her own family and the fun of raising her twins, Maggie and Noah.

Emily is the Project Manager for ATD Building Group and keeps busy nearly seven days-a-week, since she is also a devoted mother of three children with her husband, Doug. Emily has been working in the construction industry since 1998 and a part of ATD Building Group family since January of 2018. She loves seeing projects come together for ATD clients in the beginning stages, and then continually taking shape throughout the designing and building process.

However, nothing is dearer to her heart though than time her family at home. After moving to the Wilmington area thirteen years ago from her hometown of St. Simons Island, Georgia, the Cape Fear Region is now where she and her husband of twenty years call home with their three young boys, two dogs, and even a bearded dragon.
